Saint Dominic

When the church was at its lowest, a man who went by Dominic, turned against fame and wealth, and decided to go out on a mission. That mission was to convert sinners into devoted Christians. He turned criminals; whose lives were full of hatred and misery into believers, whose lives were full of love grace and joy.

The importance of saint Dominic in our school is extremely high. He; in a way built both st Joseph's school and st Kevin's college. In the early 1200’s Dominic wrote the Dominican order, which attracted the Dominican sisters, who went all around the world in a quest to preach about God. The Dominican sisters built st Joseph’s school, where I am today, and st Kevin's college, just down the road.

Dominic de Guzman was born in the year 1170 and died august 6 1221. His feast day is august 6 and is the patron saint of astronomers.
